Amongst streaming providers, HBO Max boasts one of the most impressive collections of quality content, accessible at the speed of 5G infrastructure. But the company didn’t have an engaging way to communicate this critical value proposition within their flagship retail stores across the US (in partnership with AT&T) or to its broader online audience.
Opportunity
Create an interactive retail experience scalable to multiple locations and online that showcases HBO Max’s massive content library—by inviting exploration and sharing through unique interactivity, creative technology and surprising juxtapositions. Inspire all types of streaming customers to discover the enormity of both new and historical content that reinforces the brand’s storied leadership in entertainment.
Showcasing Depth and Breadth
The Orbit retail experience showcases HBO Max’s content library in a form that draws inspiration from the earliest notions of film. Our content seems infinite, dynamically orbiting the space and assembling into a dense, futuristic matrix to explore. Customers use intuitive and playful voice and body interactions, belying the complexity of the back end technology built with computer vision and machine learning software. Customers found themselves at the center of a choose-your-own-adventure game featuring hundreds of clips, sound bites, and memorable moments in entertainment.
